PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a noise, a galling, etc., caused when the input gear of a developing unit engages with a connection breaking-off gear which is supported by a fixed frame and transmits rotational force to the input gear in the rotary developing device with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The rotary developing device is provided with a plurality of developing units which are supported by a developing unit supporting member H having a rotary shaft GA rotatably supported by the fixed frames F1 and F2 and have the input gear G5 and transfer gears G11 to G14 to successively move and stop a latent image of each color component of an image carrier PR surface to and at a development position P1 for developing it into the toner image to each color, and the connection breaking-off gear G7 which is rotatably supported by the fixed frame F2, freely rotated when the input gear G5 is rotationally moved to the development position P1 and pushed by the input gear G5, and rotationally driven via a one way clutch CL1 not allowing an inverse rotation. |
