PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle circumference monitoring apparatus which can display the part of a landscape of all directions in the image imaged by a simple means using a memory by inverting or non-inverting the part of the landscape in response to the part when a plurality of directions of the landscapes are simultaneously imaged by a single imaging element. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle circumference monitoring apparatus 1A comprises a single imaging element 107, optical systems 108, 114 for simultaneously focusing the plurality of the directions of the landscapes on different predetermined regions of the imaging surface 107S of the element 107, a storage means 7, a display means 11, and a control means 21 for displaying the images imaged by the element 107 on the display means 11 by inverting or non-inverting the image in response to the projected part of the landscapes of the respective directions by storing the partial images imaged by the predetermined regions of the imaging surface 107S of the element 107 in different storage areas 7a, 7b and 7c of the storage means 7 and changing the reading direction in response to the areas 7a, 7b and 7c, reading the areas 7a, 7b and 7c and displaying the images on the display means 11. |
