PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power-saving effect by mending the periodical return of a CPU 1 and a memory 3 from the power-saving state. SOLUTION: In the power-saving state, a print mechanism control circuit 25 automatically monitors the condition of a print mechanism 4, and informs the change of the condition of the print mechanism 4 to be informed to the CPU 1 with an interrupt. A console panel control circuit 27 presses a switch on a console panel 6, thereby generating an interrupt. On receiving the receive data from a host computer 7, a host interface circuit 28 generates an interrupt. Thus, each circuit automatically monitors the peripheral device of a printer controller 2, whereby it is not necessary to return the CPU 1 and the memory 3 periodically from the power-saving state so as to obtain an efficient power- saving effect. |
