PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can drastically contributing the improvement of the performance to the user by constructing a printer system for optimumly controlling a throughput at the time of switching the paper carrying speed in accordance with various jobs and a prescribed condition required by a user to print. SOLUTION: An engine control part 302 is characterized in that it is provided with a printing mode according to a paper carrying speed, and the printing mode comprises at least a 1st printing mode where the paper carrying speed is unequivocally decided based on the printing situation of the paper instructed by a printer controller, and a 2nd printing mode where the paper carrying speed is decided based on the printing situation of the paper instructed by the printer controller and the prescribed condition, and the image forming device is provided with paper carrying speed instructing means 313 and 320 for instructing that the 2nd printing mode should be performed at either of the paper carrying speeds. |
