PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional projector type head lamp wherein efficiency is low when distributing a low beam since almost a half quantity of light is shielded by a shutter, and the head lamp is getting old-fashioned in terms of its design since only a projection lens is visible with the head lamp mounted. SOLUTION: This projector type head lamp 1 is structured so that a cross section in a vertical direction passing through the center of the projection lens 5 has a protruded surface on the front surface, and a line connecting an upper end P and a lower end Q is inclined relative to verticality on the planar back surface 5a side. Therefore, entire light is directed downward by the prism action of the projection lens 5 and a shielded quantity is reduced by the shutter 4 to enhance brightness and to make the head lamp look novel in terms of its design. |
