PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which can increase the limit of the length of a cable for connecting a camera side apparatus to communication equipment. SOLUTION: In the communication system, the camera side apparatus comprises a synchronizing signal detecting means for detecting the synchronizing signal of an image signal transmitted to an image signal transmission cable, a decoding means for decoding communication data, a means for starting decoding of the initial communication data in the decoding means after a predetermined time is elapsed when the horizontal synchronizing signal to an initial horizontal period to be superposed with the communication data by the synchronizing signal detecting means is detected, and a means for starting decoding in the decoding means after one horizontal period of the image signal is elapsed from a time point when the decoding of the previous communication data is started for the second or following communication data. |
