PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and reliably take a countermeasure regarding a transmission loss by a coaxial cable transmission path, corresponding to a transmission rate of word string data, when the word string data is converted into serial data and transmitted through the coaxial cable transmission path. SOLUTION: A transmission rate is set as any of a plurality of different word transmission rates, and word string data that the number of word configuration bits is a predetermined number is subjected to a P/S conversion processing to obtain serial data. A signal, representing the serial data, is under frequency band restrictions that high-frequency components more than needed by a band restriction filter selected in response to the transmission rate of the word string data are removed, and a signal representing the serial data, which is under frequency band restrictions is transmitted through a coaxial cable transmission path.
