PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light emitting element having a light output of high luminance and long life with extremely high efficiency. SOLUTION: This organic light emitting element comprises at least a pair of electrodes consisting of the anode and the cathode, and one or more layers containing organic compounds put between the electrodes. At least one of the layers containing the organic compounds contains a compound represented by the following general formula [1].
