<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an input position within the two-dimensional or three- dimensional space always precisely without being affected by the change in the size of the input surface or the temperature change. SOLUTION: A wave transmitting/receiving means is disposed at a first reference position A within the two-dimensional space including a detected position P, and a wave receiving means is disposed at a second reference position B. The wave transmitting time (q) from the detected position P to the first reference position A, the wave transmitting time (r) from the detected position P to the second reference position B, and the wave transmitting time (s) between the reference positions A and B are measured, and the time axis coordinate (xt , yt ) of the detected position P is calculated based on the three measured times (q), (r) and (s). The propagation speed (v) of the wave is found from the structural distance (b) between the reference positions A and B and the wave transmitting time (s), and the two-dimensional coordinate (x, y) is found by multiplying the time axis coordinate and the propagation speed (v) together.</p> |
