PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of correctly executing a FAX sequence so as to avoid deterioration in image quality in a FAX image in the case of communicating a FAX data from a terminal via a voice communication path. SOLUTION: This invention provides the communication device accommodating a terminal with a FAX communication function and making FAX communication of FAX data with an opposed communication device via a voice communication path is characterized in to comprise a voice communication path establishing means for validating a function of bringing the quality of a reproduction voice signal to have high quality at setup so as to set up the voice communication path; and a FAX communication time function limit means for stopping at least part of the function of bringing the quality of the reproduction voice signal to high quality at detection of a FAX tone.
