PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat cable with a small free bend diameter having fire retardancy, flexibility and self-weight equivalent to a conventional one or higher and not causing toxic gas such as dioxin or gaseous hydrogen chloride during waste incineration. SOLUTION: An insulating wire is provided by covering a flame retardant resin composition comprising base polymer not containing halogen and containing metal hydroxide and a swelling clay mineral as an insulating layer on an outer circumference of a conductor. The insulating wire is used as a solid wire and/or a plurality of the insulating wires are stranded to be used as an insulating stranded wire. The flat cable is composed by arranging a plurality of the solid wires of the insulating wire and/or the insulating stranded wires side by side in parallel and collectively covering them by using the flame retardant resin composition comprising base polymer not containing halogen and containing metal hydroxide and a swelling clay mineral as a sheath layer. It is characterized by that weight adjusting materials are arranged in the sheath layer and/or the insulating stranded wire. |
