PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method between a client and a server capable of realizing efficient communications between a large number of clients and the server without imposing any load on the server. SOLUTION: A server 10 divides the identification information of clients 20 being the transmission destinations of contents information into a plurality of groups without overlapping them, and generates an identification information list for every specified client, and transmits the contents information and the generated identification list to the clients 20. Each client 20 which receives the identification information list from the server or another client divides the identification information on the list into a plurality of groups without overlapping them, and generates the identification information list for every specified client, and transmits the contents information and the generated identification information list to the client 20. Thus, the contents information transmitted from the server 10 can be transmitted from each client to a plurality of clients in a branching system accompanying the grouping of the identification information successively done.
