PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for demodulation which can reduce the power consumption although joint detection demodulation is used. SOLUTION: A service decision part 1 decides whether the number of spread codes to be used for communication currently carried out by a radio communication device of the local station is larger than a specified reference value and when so, a channel estimation part 2 generates a delay profile for all multiplex codes of only the local station. After an operation variable generation part 3 generates an operation variable according to the generated delay profile, an interference removal operation part 4 performs interference removal operation based upon the operation variable. When it is decided that the number of spread codes is less than the specified reference value, a delay profile for all multiplex codes including other stations is generated. An operation variable is generated on the basis of the generated delay profile and then interference removal operation is carried out on the basis of the operation variable.
