PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali developing liquid which can stably be used for development to produce a clear image with high sharpness for a long time and to provide a method for making a lithographic printing plate. SOLUTION: The alkali developing liquid for a photosensitive lithographic printing plate is characterized in containing a compound expressed by general formula (I). In formula (I), at least two of R1 , R2 , R3 are not hydrogen atoms, each of A and B represents either -CH2 CH2 O- or -CH2 CH(CH3 )O-, each of n and m represents 0 or an integer from 1 to 30 but both of m and n are not 0 at a time. The method for making a lithographic printing plate is characterized in exposing an IR photosensitive lithographic printing plate having an image forming layer containing an IR absorbing dye to IR rays and then developing the layer with the above alkali developing liquid. |
