PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically identify a text image and a natural image and to automatically adjust image quality of display images for every kind of the images. SOLUTION: An input image obtained from an image input means 1 is stored in an image storage part 31 and a feature amount of the input image is extracted by an image feature amount extraction means 21 and stored in an image feature amount storage part 32. The kind of the image is identified by using an image kind identification means 22 on the basis of the feature amount, optimum image quality adjustment is performed to the image stored in the image storage part 31 by an image quality adjustment means 23 on the basis of the identified result and the image after the image quality adjustment is outputted to the outside by an image output means 4.
