PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-resistance NTC thermistor element the resistance value of which little fluctuates. SOLUTION: This NTC thermistor element 1 has an elemental thermistor body 2 in which at least one internal electrode has first and second counter electrodes 3a and 3b arranged to face each other in the same plane with a gap in between. At least part of the first counter electrode 3a is superimposed upon the first counter electrode 4a of another internal electrode connected to the opposite potential at a different height position in the thickness direction through a thermistor layer. On both end faces of the elemental thermistor body 2, external electrodes 7 and 8 are formed.
