PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air electrode principally consisting of lanthanum - cobalt compound oxide (LSC) for usage in a solid electrolyte fuel cell, preventing peeling or cracking in formation, and having good heatproof shock resistance during operation of a fuel cell for greatly improving durability as the fuel cell, and to provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell using his air electrode. SOLUTION: This air electrode 5 for the solid electrolyte fuel cell is formed when a layer, in which a stress reducing material 6 consisting of oxide such as TiO2 , noble metal such as Ag and Pt, or an electrolyte material such as YSZ and ceria is contained in lanthanum - cobalt compound oxide, is formed on the surface of a solid electrolyte 4. |
