PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a D-class amplifier for avoiding the uncomfortable feelings of a user by reducing shock noise generated from a speaker when a power source is turned on. SOLUTION: Between an H bridge pulse generating circuit 104 and a driver 106, a mute circuit 105 is provided for turning P+ and P-pulses, which are inputted from the H bridge pulse generating circuit 104 to the driver 106, to '0' for a predetermined fixed time when turning on the power source (+B) of this driver 106 in a speaker 108 to be driven by the D-class amplifier 100.
