PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device which can output character voices that a user desires through speech synthesis processing of respective parts of speech synthesis object data, e.g. words of characters, narration, etc. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a data input means which inputs data of a phoneme database, storing data of minimum constitution elements (phoneme) of a human voice, and an object of speech synthesis, a phoneme database selecting means which selects the phoneme database, and a speech synthesis processing part which generates synthesized voice data by analyzing the data of the object of speech synthesis and extracting and connecting optimum phonemes from the phoneme database. Consequently, the user can hear text data of a novel which is read aloud in desired character voice with a real feeling. |
