A climate control system for a house with a cellar has a heat exchange module (3) build into one end of the cellar to contact the soil and exchange thermal energy with the soil. The system includes heat pumps which draw heat out of the soil in winter, to heat the living accommodation and which can be operated in reverse in summer to transfer heat from the living accommodation into the soil. The heat exchanger module can also be built into a semi-cellar in a split level design house.
