A process to determine and reduce the dead time effect in a two-point converter of fixed frequency replaces the dead times of the whole system so that the codes for the three switching conditions of each half-bridge are available and the number of phases for each half-bridge is not reduced. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a process as above in which the dead time errors are compensated; (b) a process as above for error voltage analysis; and (c) a process as above to measure the central value of the actual voltage.
