A sensor detects the characteristics of a power converter, based on which the output current level of the converter is determined, so that a setting unit sets the duty cycle of a synchronous rectifier circuit such that the amount of reverse current that is allowed to flow through the converter is limited to a predetermined level, based on the detection result. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) power system; (2) synchronous rectifier control method.
