CELL-FREE PROTEIN SYNTHESIS MEANS

It is intended to provide cell−free protein synthesis means in a wheat germ system with the use of a base sequence sustaining a translation activity−promoting function originating in CrPV−like viruses. More specifically speaking, a reading frame of a gene is ligated to the downstream of a specific higher−order structure of CrPV−like viruses so that translation of a protein can be initiated from various amino acids in the wheat germ system. Further, a base sequence of about 30 bp or more is introduced between the higher−order structure and a target gene. Thus, overexpression can be established in the cell−free protein synthesis means with the use of wheat germ.
