PURPOSE: A method for modulating a space voltage vector suitable for an inverter is provided to reduce an output voltage vector by configuring an output voltage with four voltage vectors. CONSTITUTION: An output voltage is comprised of four voltage vectors(V1Tg,V2Tg,V4Tg,V5Tg). A dimension of each of the four voltage vectors(V1Tg,V2Tg,V4Tg,V5Tg) is set a dimension that is greater than an allowable inter-phase switching interval. Where the output voltage is zero, a dimension of each of the four voltage vectors(V1Tg,V2Tg,V4Tg,V5Tg) is identical to each other. An arbitrary voltage output is obtained such that two voltage vectors(V1Tg,V2Tg) out of the four voltage vectors(V1Tg,V2Tg,V4Tg,V5Tg) are changed.
