The cover (1) is designed as a rectangular pocket, made of a flexible, lightweight, and weather proof material which can be provided with a reflecting coating. An opening (2) is integrated in one of the shorter sides and surrounded by an elastic band for a tight fit around the mirror holding arrangement. The built-up of an ice layer can be avoided by covering the mirror in particular during the night in order to save scraping in the morning.
