The standard way of folding the airbag (10) for storage includes the pushing of the lower area towards the center of the inner space in a first step and the subsequent folding into parallel rows creating elevated intersections between the bottom and the folding lines. The new folding method starts also with the pushing of the lower area towards the center of the inner space in a first step, but continues with a diagonal folding (120a, 120b, 120c, 120d) of the remaining bag (10), resulting in flatter intersections (130a, 130b, 130c, 130d) and an overall more pliable bag (10) which is easier to store in its housing (20).
