The fuel system has a main fuel tank (1) for plant oil and a secondary fuel tank (2) for diesel fuel, with switching between the alternate fuel supplies via a 3-way valve (10) inserted in the fuel line supplying the fuel injection pump (7). A heat exchanger (13) is inserted in the fuel line between the main fuel tank and the 3-way valve, for heating the plant oil via the engine coolant, with an associated temperature sensor (15) controlling the switching from diesel fuel to plant oil when a minimum temperature is reached.
