<p>Iron oxide particles, characterized in that they have a surface covered with a composite iron oxide layer containing Al and Mg, wherein the composite iron oxide layer has a total content of Al and Mg of 0.1 to 2.5 mass % relative to the whole iron oxide particle, a Mg content of 0.05 to 1 mass % and a Al content of 0.05 to 1.7 mass %, the above percentages being relative to the whole iron oxide particle, and the amount of Mg contained in the composite iron oxide layer accounts for 20 % or more of the amount of Mg contained in the whole iron oxide particle.</p> |
