The rope (2) contains at least one solid and/or fluid binding medium former (7) in the form of at least one endless element, which at least time period wise, has a rigid surface. At least one flexible and stretch-resistant endless element is contained in the rope, and the rope by chemical and/or physical treatment is transferred into the solidified state. Additionally, the rope has at least one endless element containing a binding medium former which can be transferred by chemical and/or physical treatment on its surface or completely into the liquid state of aggregation, after which the liquid phase is transferred automatically in the solid state.
