Novel insulin precursors and insulin precursor analogues comprising a connecting C-peptide and an N-terminal extension are easy to handle in down stream processing and are expressed in high yields. The precursors are characterized in that the connecting peptide, the N-terminal extension or both contain at least one glycosylation site.
