The invention relates to a method for the transmission of an electronic data volume, between a provider server device (2) and a user computer (1) and a device for use within the scope of the method. The electronic data volume is called up by a server device (3), from the provider server device (2) and electronically analysed and processed in the server device (3). The processed electronic data volume is transferred, from the server device to the user computer (1). Although the electronic data volume was called up from the provider server (2), by the user computer (1), the transmission to the user computer (1) occurs with continuous input from the server device (3). In this manner the chargeable download of the electronic data volume is controlled by the server device and recorded for billing.
