A wind powered electrical generation assembly (10) having a portable wind powered generator tower (14) for supporting a wind powered generator (12) allowing the wind powered generator (12) to be raised, lowered, and removed from the tower (14). The wind powered electrical generation assembly also includes a vertical elevator (24) on the tower (14) configured to vertically lift the wind powered generator (12) with a carriage (46) to position the wi nd powered generator (12) at a top of the tower (14) . The wind powered electrical generation assembly (10) further includes a wind powered generato r (12) having at least spars (98) and at least six airfoils (16) with mating cams (156, 180) to rotate the airfoils (16) relative to the spars (98) as th e airfoils (16) move along the spars (98) towards an end (164) of the spars (9 8) as wind passes the airfoils (16).
