<p>A work support having a simplified structure and an improved dependability and reliability of operation. A work support (1) comprises a rod (4), a sleeve body (10) fitted on the rod (4) and elastically deformable to a smaller diameter, a case member (3) for supporting the sleeve body (10), and an outer circumferential side hydraulic chamber (23) formed on the outer circumferential side of the sleeve body (10). The work support (1) further comprises a hydraulic cylinder (5) for moving the rod (4) toward the axis, and oil passages (35, 35a, 35b) for causing the hydraulic actuation chamber (16) of the hydraulic cylinder (5) to communicate with the outer circumferential side hydraulic chamber (23) when the piston member (30) of the hydraulic cylinder (5) moves to or near its stroke end.</p> |
