Socket, comprising a base element that is permanently connected to a cable. At the other side the socket is provided with a U-shaped part, which U-shaped part together with the socket delimits a receiving aperture for a further part to be connected to it. The U-shaped part is detachable from the socket. This is achieved by means of pins or bolts extending through the legs of the U-shaped part, and by bores made in lips projecting from the base element.
