A process is claimed for the prodn. of a multilayer composite tube from a standard tube of crosslinked propylene random copolymer (PP-R) or crosslinked PE-X (VPE) and metal foil with overlapping edges, esp. Al foil, which is firmly bonded to the inner tube with a bonding agent (I) and covered with an outer plastic protective layer (II). The overlapping edges of the foil are at least partly free from (I), and sealed together by laser welding. Also claimed is an appts. for this process, comprising (in sequence) a coextrusion system, a foil folding system to apply the foil to the coextruded tube and produce the overlapping edges, and pressure-clamp and/or jaw-clamp tools connected to the laser welder, which press against the metal foil. |
