Two straps, sewn with their upper ends to the rear of a third, surrounding strap, are guided across the lower end (5) of the sleeping bag (1) and pulled trough adjusting buckles located at the front. A short person can pull at two loops formed by the opposite ends of the straps in order to compress the lower part (5) of the sleeping bag (1) accommodated inside the strap arrangement. The overall length of the sleeping bag (1) is reduced, resulting in a smaller inner space (2) which has to be heated with the body warmth of the occupant.
