<p>The invention relates to an asynchronous frame receiver (UART1). The inventive receiver is provided to receive frames which comprise standard characters and which may comprise, in the header thereof, a break character which is longer than a standard character. According to the invention, the receiver comprises a break character detection element (SM1) and a standard character processing element (SM21). The aforementioned standard character processing element (SM21) is distinct from the break character detection element and is activated by the break character detection element when the latter is active. The invention is particularly suitable for use in UART circuits in microcontrollers.</p> |
