<p>An elevator comprising a hoist (5) installed in the top of an elevator shaft, a wire rope passed through the traction sheave of the hoist (5) and provided, at one end thereof, with an elevator cage (1) and, at the other end thereof, with a balance weight (2), a compensation chain (3) fixed, at the both ends thereof, to the lower part of the elevator cage (1) and the lower part of the balance weight (2) respectively, a rescue weight (4) fixed to the compensation chain (3) in case of emergency in order to move the elevator cage (1) by adjusting the balance between the cage (1) and the balance weight (2), and means (7) for detecting the rescue weight (4) fixed to the compensation chain (3).</p> |
