<p>Substantial labor and time have been required for designing and fine-tuning a laser diode module, causing production costs to increase. The following design method is used to resolve conventional problems. An outputting polarization preserving optical fiber is designed such that the length of the outputting polarization preserving optical fiber where a laser diode module or a non-polarized laser diode module composed of one laser diode and one outputting polarization preserving fiber is connected to a laser diode is set to a value [expression 37] (I) which is derived by using the Fabry-Perot longitudinal mode interval Δλ of a laser beam output from a laser diode, an oscillation center wavelength λ0, a beat length Lbeat1 of an outputting polarization preserving optical fiber, and the wavelength λbeat of light measuring that beat length.</p> |
