PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method where an operator is detected with high reliability, when the operator creeps into a monitoring range and a malfunction is prevented by improving an apparatus, and to provide a method where an object moving in the monitoring range of a camera is detected. SOLUTION: By a projection device 14, a reference pattern is irradiated at a monitoring region 15, a value measured by the camera 13 is compared with a reference value, and an object detection reaction is started, when the measured value is different from the present reference value. Both the measured value and the reference value are derived from the difference between at least two different image parts. |
