PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the speeding-up of focusing driving control by reducing traffic for driving a focusing lens. SOLUTION: This camera system is constituted of an interchangeable lens equipped with the focusing lens and a driving means for driving the focusing lens to a target position, and a camera body equipped with a focus detection means and an arithmetic means for calculating target position data to be transmitted to the interchangeable lens and to drive the focusing lens based on the result of focus detection by the focus detection means. In the system, the interchangeable lens and the camera body can communicate with each other through the communication means of the camera body and the communication means of the interchangeable lens. In the case of transmitting the target position data from the camera body to the interchangeable lens, a data transmission command and the length of the target position data are changed according to the value of the target position data calculated by the arithmetic means (#103 to #108). |
