PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide filler-added paper which contains an inorganic substance recycled from papermaking sludge as a recycled filler, does not cause the deterioration of paper strength, and has excellent paper opacity, high whiteness, excellent abrasion resistance, and stable quality. SOLUTION: This filler-added paper is characterized by containing a cationic polymer and 1 to 30 wt.% of the recycled filler which has a median diameter of 0.5 to 5μm and is obtained by carbonizing a mixture of an organic substance with white inorganic particles in the presence of an oxygen-containing gas in a poor oxygen condition at a temperature of <=1,000 deg.C, and then decarbonizing the carbonized product in the presence of an oxygen-containing gas controlled to oxidize the carbonized product in a temperature range of 450 to 1,000 deg.C.
