PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paving method using a material containing shells, which is carried out by exposing an asphalt mixture to a pavement surface, whereby pedestrians can visually recognize the mixture of the shells in the pavement surface, and to provide a pavement body for use in the paving method. SOLUTION: According to the paving method, a heated pavement material is produced by mixing the white shells into the black heated asphalt mixture, and the pavement body is prepared by using the heated pavement material. After the temperature of the pavement body has fallen to room temperature, the pavement surface is ground and swept to have a worked surface. At this time the white shells are exposed from the black asphalt mixture in the worked surface to the extent that the shells are visually recognized as the white shells. Therefore, the white shells are scattered in the black asphalt mixture, and pedestrians can visually recognize the white shells in the worked surface of the pavement, which improves the appearance of the pavement body.
