PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pyroligneous acid/wood-related product which can smoothly be made into a gel-like form and has specific efficacy of pyroligneous acid, etc. SOLUTION: This woody gel is obtained by mixing the aqueous part of the thermal decomposition liquid of woody component with a gelling agent, heating the mixture to about >=80 deg.C and hardening the mixture into a gel-like state. Since the aqueous part of the thermal decomposition liquid of the woody part is mixed with the gelling agent, heated to about >=80 deg.C and hardened into a gel-like state, no final product is fluid or becomes like jelly as it is without being made into a gel-like state, the woody gel can smoothly be made into a gel-like form.
