PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection structure and a connection method for a segment for preventing lack of durability of a shield tunnel in spite of a change in conditions such as a load applied to the segment and the shape of the segment. SOLUTION: Fastening contact plates 61-63 are arranged along the shield tunnel 10 inside face, and at the same time, arranged along the inside faces of segments 1, which are arranged adjacently in the circumference direction and the axial direction of the tunnel 10, over a plurality of segments 1. In the mutually connected segments 1, joint materials 31, 41, and 51 are previously arranged in the contact parts with the fastening contact plates 61-63. The fastening contact plates 61-63 are connected by means of fastening materials 7 such as bolts while the fastening contact plates are abutted to the respective joint materials 31, 41, and 51 in the respective segments 1 to be connected together.
