NOBLE METAL EXTRACTION AGENT CONSISTING OF THIOANILINE DERIVATIVE, AND METHOD OF SEPARATING NOBLE METAL USING THE EXTRACTION AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of extracting a solvent by which specified noble metals can selectively and easily be separated from various metallic products and metallic materials containing base metals and noble metals. SOLUTION: The noble metal extraction agent consists of a thioaniline derivative expressed by the following structural formula (I) [wherein, R is a 1 to 18C alkyl group or alkenyl group, and n is 0 or 1]. In the method of separating noble metals, the extraction agent is used. A hydrochloric acid aqueous solution or a nitric acid aqueous solution of metal at least containing palladium and/or gold, and an extraction solvent containing a noble metal extraction agent consisting of a thioaniline derivative in the formula (I) are brought into liquid- liquid contact, and the palladium and/or gold is extracted into the extraction solvent, so that the palladium and/or gold can be separated.
