PURPOSE: An apparatus for sensing a traffic state is provided to indicate correctly traffic states to drivers by sensing accurately the speed, the kinds, and the number of vehicles on the road. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic material sensing unit(10) is formed by arranging three single bodies including copper wires and cores. A driver terminal(20) is used for operating an amplification portion(40) to amplify an output signal. A band filter portion(30) passes only frequencies of a predetermined band of signals outputted from the magnetic material sensing unit(10) and attenuates the remaining signals. The amplification portion(40) amplifies output signals of the band filter portion(30). An attenuation portion(50) attenuates output signals of the amplification portion(40). A pulse generation portion(60) receives the attenuated signals from the attenuation portion(50) and outputs pulses having fixed pulse width. A CPU(Central Processing Unit) portion(70) determines the speed and the kind of a corresponding vehicle and the number of the vehicles within a predetermined area. A power supply portion(80) supplies operating voltages. A display portion(90) displays traffic states. The magnetic material sensing units(10) are installed in a predetermined interval on the road. Only the maximum pulse of the output pulses of the magnetic material sensing units(10) is transmitted to the CPU portion(70).
