PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust dynamic pressure bearing easy to work a dynamic pressure generating groove, and having a herringbone type groove capable of generating stable dynamic pressure. SOLUTION: The dynamic pressure generating groove 20 is constant in a groove width MS-1 of an inside part 20a, and is also constant in a groove width ML-1 of an outside part 20b. The groove width ML-1 is wider than the groove width MS-1. The groove 20 is easily worked only by respectively making mealings different in the size travel once in the inside part 20a and the outside part 20b of the groove 20. A curve drawn by the edge 20d of the groove 20 is an involute curve.
