PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever structure for a manual transmission for a vehicle improving fitting workability in fitting a shift lever to a retainer of the manual transmission. SOLUTION: This shift lever structure for the manual transmission for the vehicle is provided with the retainer 1 installed in the vehicle side and having an assembling hole, the shift lever 5 set in a reverse position of a select position with a pushing operation, and an energizing spring 4. This structure is also provided with a spring engagement part 15 in the retainer 1 and a spring presser ring 2 retained by being engaged with the spring engagement 15 of the retainer 1. The spring presser ring 2 abuts on the energizing spring 4 accumulating a spring force so as to prevent projection of the energizing spring 4 accumulating the spring force.
