PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing slurry which has satisfactory stability, and is suitable for the production of lithium - nickel based oxide without causing the increase of the viscosity of slurry in the production of lithium - nickel based oxide by a wet process, and to provide a method of producing lithium - nickel based oxide. SOLUTION: A nickel compound and a lithium compound are subjected to a wet pulverization treatment in a solvent to form into slurry, and, after that, this slurry is dried, and is further subjected to burning treatment to produce the lithium - nickel based oxide. In this case, as the nickel compound, nickel oxide in which the half-value width in the 003 plane of the X-ray diffraction peak is <=0.6 degrees is used. |
